As a child in the 1970's, if you had a chopper bicycle you were cool and if you could do a wheelie on it, super cool ...I didn't, but was happy playing hopscotch or hunting for snails in the prickly bushes at the bottom our alley with my friends instead.
This stitched painting is inspired by childhood memories of playing out in the street. Drawing with the thread, the stitches walk around the canary yellow paper between the bricks and the bike, connecting foreground with background.
It is available as an original stitched painting and as a fine art giclée print
THE ORIGINAL - A stitched painting measuring 20.2 x 20.2 cm. - Deep green threads are embroidered over cotton calico fabric and brought to life with collaged translucent papers and acrylic paint. - It is stretched on a wooden board and is ready for framing.
THE FINE ART GICLÉE PRINT
- Professionally printed in Barcelona using Hahnemuhle William Turner 100% cotton archival paper weighing 310gsm. A GICLÉE is a high quality process that produces pure colour, high resolution prints that faithfully mirror the vibrant colours and textures of the original stitched painting.
