This Pharmacy is one of the few authentic shops of its kind left in Barcelona. Its rich Catalan Art Nouveau facade inspired me to create this piece of art.
During the Modernista period at the turn of the 19th century (also known as Art Nouveau) pharmacies were a favourite for showing off this architectural style.
THE ORIGINAL - A mixed media piece measuring 30 x 40 cm which includes an acid-free mount/mat. - Created with acrylic pigments, translucent papers and archival ink over heavy weight acid-free watercolour paper. Sold unframed. - My signature and the title are inked into the piece.
